We’re at FABTECH this week

FABTECH 2026 runs October 21 to 23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and the Stella Source team will be there all three days. If you’re going, come by and say hello.

This year we’re showing something we get asked about a lot: PDF takeoff. It’s one of the slowest parts of quoting, and we’ve built a way to do most of it for you.

CJ Quehl from our engineering team is also speaking on Thursday, October 22 at 11:45 AM in Room N223-224. His talk, “The Pragmatic Fabricator’s Guide to Applied AI,” is part of session F096 in the Smart Fabrication track.

Where to find us

  • Booth: C6139, Central Hall
  • Dates: Wednesday, October 21 through Friday, October 23
  • Location: Las Vegas Convention Center

Walk-ups are always welcome. If you want time set aside for you, book 15 minutes at the booth.

New to Stella Source?

We make software for metal service centers and fabricators. It covers how you sell: pricing, quoting, ordering, and payments.

Most buyers shop around. They stop shopping when someone answers first, has a price they trust, and is easy to order from. Stella helps you be that someone.

  • Quote faster — RFQs from email, PDF drawings, and CAD files become quotes in minutes, priced based on your labor, machines, materials, and more.
  • Let regulars order on their own — your storefront and customer portals let buyers reorder, check status, and pay without calling.
  • Reach new buyers — new customers can find you, get a price for material and/or custom parts, and order online.
  • Get paid sooner — accept ACH and card payments on quotes and invoices.

Your people still own the customer relationships. Stella handles the lookups and clicking that slow them down, so they have more time to sell.

What we’re showing

AI PDF Takeoff

When a drawing package comes in as a PDF, most shops do one of two things. The drawings go to a programmer to model the parts, which can take a day or more and pulls them off production work. Or the estimator takes the largest length and width of each part and breaks the job down by hand.

PDF Takeoff does that setup work for you. Upload a multi-page assembly or a full drawing package, and Advanced Quoting builds the BOM with a line item for every part. Each line comes in with the part name, quantity, and dimensions, the closest material from your product list, and a default machine and cutting process. Assemblies keep their parent and child structure, so the quote matches how the job is built.

From there, every line runs through your normal pricing. Advanced Quoting flags where secondary operations like welding need to be added. You add those, review the lines, and send the quote.

Instant quoting on your website, with Advanced Quoting behind it

Advanced Quoting now connects to Stella Source storefronts. Simple jobs get an instant price on your website. Complex ones go to your estimators in Advanced Quoting, so your team spends its time on the quotes that need it.

The Shape Library

Not every buyer has a CAD file. With the Shape Library, buyers pick a standard shape, enter the dimensions, and order the part, with a live preview as they type. Stella makes the DXF. Your reps get the same builder when they quote, so a phone call can become a sent quote before the call ends.

Everything else you sell, online

Your storefront isn’t only for stock. Remnants, hardware, your full line card, and the cuts you quote every week can all go in your catalog, with photos. We wrote up four ways customers are using it.

Not going to Vegas?

We can show you the same things on a call. Book A Demo any time. If you’re already a customer, reach out to your Stella Source contact, and we’ll set it up.

Hope to see you in Las Vegas.
